~ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ~

Please Note – For full information on the sizes and specifications of any given specific artworks, please refer to its accompanying product details in our gallery shop pages.

Please also refer to the information below on this page for further details on Print Specifications; Mounts; Framing; Caring for Your Artwork; and Our Limited Edition Fine Art Prints.

A Word About Our Printers

We’re very proud to work closely with Ireland’s leading Hahnemühle Certified Fine Art Print Studio – Fine Art Print Studio Ireland – our Master-Craftsman who meticulously and beautifully create our Fine Art Giclée Prints.

Print Specifications

All of our Fine Art Giclée Prints are bespoke printed-to-order – made using Hahnemühle Photo Rag® 308gsm Fine Art Paper – a beautiful organic exhibition museum archival quality paper, with archival quality pigment inks.

As detailed above – our artworks in our gallery shop pages (with the exception of James Pearson’s artworks) come with Museum Quality Hand-Crafted Monts and Backboards, so they can be simply popped into your frame of choice!

Unless otherwise specified, all sizes advertised throughout our gallery shop are based on either:

a.) the external measurement of the specified paper size or,

b.) the external measurement of the mount-board.

~ MOUNTS ~

Our expertly hand-crafted mounted Fine Art prints are vacuum backed with museum quality 5mm thick foam backing boards, to ensure stability, longevity, and also ease of framing and hanging.

MOUNT WIDTH – All standard mounts are cut with a minimum width of 45mm.

MOUNT WINDOW – As seen on the example artwork below which accompanies this description, there is a minimum reveal of 5mm of white paper print border around the printed image which is be visible from the front face of the mount. Sometimes this white border may be larger on two sides depending on the aspect ratio and cropping constraints of the artwork.

~ A LITTLE NOTE ABOUT FRAMING & FRAMES ~

We like to keep our costs down for our customers, and given the logistics of shipping framed artworks, frames are not included with our artworks and prints, unless otherwise specified or agreed with us ahead of placing an order.

However, to make life easier for our customers, we have standardised our sizes as far as possible. For example: 12×10 inches; 12×12 inches; 16×12 inches, and 20×16 inches – all of which are very easy to find frames for.

There’s such a large variety in colour, size, shape, price etc on the market to suit all tastes and budgets – and all these are very easy to source.

We do strongly recommend using a well-established professional framer to frame the artwork you buy from us.

~ A FEW FRAMING TIPS FOR OUR PRE-MOUNTED ARTWORKS ~

Owing for the need to accommodate the natural expansion of materials, frames (or decent ones!), please ensure you allow 3mm of space between the glass and the inside of the frame, so that your Mounted Artwork sits comfortably within when choosing a frame. Please always handle with care when framing. See further notes below on caring for your new piece of artwork.

Caring For Your Artwork

To ensure the longevity and quality of your Jack Thompson Artwork, we recommend following the care instructions below which are also provided with your piece of artwork.

Your Artwork is very precious and delicate so please note the following…

– Avoid handling your artwork, and keep it in the acid-free protective paper until it’s framed;

If you do have to handle the artwork, please don’t touch the printed images at all. Ensure your hands are oil and cream free as both have the potential to stain. Ideally – handle with clean cotton gloves;

– To avoid creasing the paper, use both hands to lift the prints, placing hands palm up underneath the print to lift;

– Do not rest anything at all on the print surface as this will mark and spoil the paper and print;

– Hang in a place with good natural light avoiding direct sunlight wherever possible, to avoid it fading over time. Alternatively use a spotlight or two to light your artwork.

Our Limited Edition Fine Art Prints

Our Limited Edition Signed Prints are rather special and something to forever cherish.

We provide Certificates of Authenticity exclusively for our Signed Limited Edition range of prints. The certificates include the edition number of the corresponding piece of Art.

They are also embossed with the official stamp of Jack Thompson Art Studios, and/or, signed by Jack Thompson.

A FINAL WORD…

Please Note – Room Mock-Up’s throughout our website are purely for illustration purposes and to give a sense of our products in situ.

We endeavour to create an accurate representation of our Artworks; their sizes and specifications on our website. However, owing to differences in the displays of varying devices and such like, they may not always represent a completely accurate view of how the physical prints will look.
